Cuban/Spaniard Miami native Teresa "Toogie" Barcelo is an internationally acclaimed choreographer and movement artist. Trained classically and culturally in a plethora of movement techniques and philosophies, she is a pioneer of the hybridization of contemporary and urban techniques. Toogie’s experiences range extensively in the theatre and commercial world. She is known among her peers as a chameleon, able to adapt to any creative context.
Based in LA, Toogie is the Associate Artistic Director at Heidi Duckler Dance, creating site specific work in unconventional spaces. She also works as a movement director/coach, choreographer and performer with artists such as Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris, Troye Sivan, Tove Lo, St. Vincent, Sabrina Carpenter, Alina Baraz, M83, Kesha, Daya, Alice Glass, Lawrence Rothman and Perfume Genius. She also teaches improvisation at The Movement Lifestyle.
As a master teacher Toogie facilitates movement through a holistic approach, creating a space for experimentation and catharsis. It is her objective to create an environment where people can embody their individuality by expanding their awareness and exercising their imagination.
